- JOUHANDEAU (Marcel). Autograph letter signed, addressed to Henri Rode, September 19, 1955. 3 pages.
"My little Henri,
I wrote to you in Villeneuve and no doubt my letter was forwarded to you. You never told me when you would be in Paris.
I'll be back next Tuesday and tomorrow in eight.
Why are you so strict with the others? You have to admit them, as they are. I'm not talking about R's mistress. On that point, I'll be as firm as you.
Besides, I have the impression that R. is very happy that I don't see him and I think he'd be very angry if you did.
Men who get involved with old ladies avoid showing up with them or even showing them. It's constant.
Perhaps I'll send you, before you see me, my new work, my life of St. Philip, which I've finished.
I wonder how you were able to connect texts that weren't meant to meet.
Still very [...] by the state of my Céline, whom I adore.
My little Robert wrote me a charming letter that made my heart beat [?] In memory of all those who preceded it.
I'll see you as soon as I get back, which I'm waiting for with a little more haste, because I know you're in Paris.
Love, your Marcel.

- JOUHANDEAU (Marcel). Autograph letter signed, dated August 07, 1973. Retained envelope. 2 pages.
"Dear friend, [...] I have just done a little work which caused a syncope, but the cardiologist reassured me, my heart has the vigor of a young man's heart.
The text is entitled "Cantique du singulier à l'Éternel". [...] Bibliophiles de l'Union française. Edition of 60 copies desired. Value of the example from 500,000 to 1 million old.
What counts is that my text is good, it has exalted me."
- JOUHANDEAU (Marcel). Autograph draft, several erasures, 2 pages and 2 lines.
"Marcel Jouhandeau presents three radio plays.
Olympias recounts the improbable circumstances surrounding the death of Philip of Macedonia. Plutarch's modesty prevents him from being precise, but Diodorus Siculus fortunately does not spare us any scabrous details. The rivalry between two of Philip's bodyguards with the same name: Pausanias is behind the murder that makes Alexander king.
Antistia is just a three-line anecdote that illustrates Pompey's youth and weakens Sylla's tyrannical regime. Pity and horror have their place.
As for Tout ou rien, I found its plot in a Paris-soir news item of incomparable originality and tragedy."
- JOUHANDEAU (Marcel). L'école des filles. Part of autograph manuscript, numerous erasures. 15 1/2 pages in blue and black ink on graph paper, including pages 64, 154, 166, 178, 278-279.
"If I give Élise a bag of candy, she will devour it all, without offering more than one to Céline.
If I give a bag of candy to Céline, she immediately takes it all to her mother, without distracting one for herself. [...]"
