NOTICE
Line Vautrin (1913-1997), born in Paris into a family of art bronziers, was a major figure in French decorative jewelry and decorative arts of the XXᵉ century. Right from the start, she made a name for herself at the 1937 International Exhibition with her gilded bronze creations - buttons, boxes, jewelry - featuring the art of engraving, rebus and symbolic motifs. After the war, she innovated with Talosel, a cellulose acetate-based material used in her "witch" mirrors and decorative objects combining resin, glass and metal. Close in spirit to designers such as Jean Després, Jean Dunand, Claude Lalanne and André Arbus, her poetic and singular work blurs the boundaries between jewelry, sculpture, design and arts and crafts. Today, she continues to influence artists, decorators and collectors around the world.
