NOTICE
Line Vautrin (1913-1997) was a major figure in French decorative art and design, creating jewelry, precious objects and mirrors celebrated for their originality. Self-taught, she was born into a family of bronzemakers in Paris, and from an early age mastered gilded bronze, before innovating in the 1950s-60s with Talosel, a cellulose acetate resin that she shaped into finely worked surfaces. Her mirrors - convex, "witch", solar - evoke a dreamlike universe close to that of Gio Ponti, Jean Cocteau, Claude Lalanne and Diego Giacometti. At the crossroads of jewelry-sculpture and objet d'art, his singular work is today highly sought-after by collectors of XXᵉ century decorative arts.
