NOTICE Bernard Rancillac (b. 1931 - d. 2021) is one of the leading figures of Figuration Narrative, alongside artists such as Hervé Télémaque, Erró and Valerio Adami. From the 1960s onwards, he developed a committed body of work, combining popular images, political references and criticism of the media. His style is characterized by the use of bright colors and motifs borrowed from comics and photography, creating a striking yet accessible visual language. Influenced by Pop Art and critical realism, Rancillac revisits the icons of contemporary culture while questioning the major social issues of his time. His work can be found in numerous public collections, including the Centre Pompidou.
