Francis LIMÉRAT (1946-2023) - Lot 233
Francis LIMÉRAT (1946-2023) Ronda 2, 1993 Sculpture, mixed technique on wood panel Titled, signed and dated on back in felt-tip pen 60 x 60 cm (Slightly missing and worn) Resale rights are payable by the buyer in the case of a sale of €750 or more. NOTICE From the 1970s onwards, Francis Limérat (1946-2023) developed a singular body of work between minimal art, geometric abstraction and constructed art, in the tradition of François Morellet, Aurelie Nemours and Vera Molnár. Close to the language of Supports/Surfaces and influenced by Paul Klee, he favors structure, repetition and rhythm in assemblages of painted wood or "relief drawings" that resemble visual scores. His work, sensitive and rigorous, follows in the footsteps of Sol LeWitt and Fred Sandback, while asserting a deeply personal voice.
