NOTICE Bengt Karl Erik Lindström (1925-2008) was a Swedish painter, lithographer and sculptor whose work, driven by a vibrant color palette and powerful style, lies at the crossroads of expressive figuration, Nordic mythology and Sami shamanic art. Born in Storsjö Kapell (Norrland province), he trained in Stockholm under Isaac Grünewald, then in Copenhagen at the Chicago Art Institute, before moving to Paris, where he frequented the studios of Léger and André Lhote. Often likened to the Cobra movement for his free expression and saturated colors, he is more closely associated with Nolde, Munch and Ensor. Lindström explored a wide range of media - painting, engraving, sculpture, murals, public decor - creating monumental works such as his famous "Y" sculpture at Midlanda airport. His artistic lineage and his double life between Sweden and France reinforce his influence as a major figure in modern Nordic art.
