NOTICE
Francisco Bores (1898-1972) was a Spanish painter of the Nouvelle École de Paris, who settled in Montparnasse in 1925. Close to Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Joaquín Torres-García, Óscar Domínguez, Hernando Viñes and Josep de Togores, he followed in the footsteps of the Spanish avant-garde in Paris. Influenced by cubism, fauvism and a certain surrealist streak, Bores developed a refined pictorial language of pure forms, curved lines and light colors. His singular work, somewhere between lyrical abstraction and stylized figuration, contributed to the influence of modern Spanish painting in France in the XXᵉ century.
