NOTICE
A French landscape painter belonging to the Neo-Impressionist movement, Gustave Cariot (1872-1950) was distinguished by his remarkable mastery of light and chromatic vibrations. Close in spirit to the works of Maximilien Luce and Henri Le Sidaner, he was a painter of light and nature, somewhere between pointillism and intimate symbolism. His landscapes, often produced in series, capture seasonal variations with great sensitivity. Present in several French museums, Cariot is today sought after by lovers of Post-Impressionist art and turn-of-the-20th-century French painting.
