NOTICE
ARMAN (1928-2005) is a major figure in the Nouveau Réalisme movement, alongside César, Yves Klein and Niki de Saint Phalle. Famous for his accumulations and destructions of everyday objects, from the 1960s onwards he questioned our relationship with consumer society. A friend of Jean Tinguely and close to the international avant-garde, he established himself as a key player in post-war contemporary art. His works, a cross between sculpture, assemblage and installation, feature in the world's greatest collections. Today, Arman is recognized for his contribution to conceptual art and the history of modern sculpture.
