Alexandre OULINE (act.1918-1940) - Lot 117
Alexandre OULINE (act.1918-1940) The warmer Shaded green patina bronze proof Signed "OULINE bronze" on the base towards the center Rectangular base in veined marble 38 x 58 x 17 cm. (Patina wear, wear scratches) NOTICE Alexandre Ouline (active 1918-1940) was a Belgian sculptor of the Art Deco period, active in France, whose works in bronze and regule follow in the footsteps of sculptors such as Demetre Chiparus, Fayral, Pierre Le Faguays, Max Le Verrier and Marcel Bouraine. He creates stylized female figures, dancers and animal subjects in an elegant, geometric style typical of the 1920s-1930s. Close in spirit to the work of Jean de Roncourt, Uriano or Menneville, Ouline appealed to lovers of Art Deco decorative sculpture and chryselephantine bronzes. His creations, regularly presented at auction, find their place alongside the great names of figurative modernism.
