In the lithographs he published in L'Estampe originale, Ranson explored a world populated by allegorical figures, natural motifs and sinuous lines inspired by Art Nouveau. His rich, stylized compositions reveal an elegant, sophisticated aesthetic, where every element contributes to creating a dreamlike, mystical atmosphere. Alongside Ranson, other great artists of the late XIXᵉ century also contributed to this prestigious publication. They include Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Gauguin, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Paul Signac, Odilon Redon, Auguste Rodin, Henri Fantin-Latour, Félicien Rops, Pierre Bonnard, Maurice Denis, Édouard Vuillard, Félix Vallotton and Paul Sérusier. Each of these artists contributed his or her own unique vision, enriching L'Estampe originale with a variety of styles and techniques, reflecting the artistic effervescence of the time. These lithographs are highly prized for their rarity and delicacy of execution, perfectly embodying the innovative spirit of the Nabis and the artistic dynamism of the fin de siècle.
