NOTICE
Rémi Blanchard is a French artist born in 1958 in Sète, southern France. He is best known for his involvement in the Figuration Libre movement in the 1980s, alongside artists such as Robert Combas, François Boisrond and Hervé Di Rosa.
Blanchard studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Montpellier before moving to Paris, where he joined the Figuration Libre movement. This artistic movement advocated a return to figuration and freedom of expression after a period dominated by abstract and conceptual art. Blanchard's works are characterized by bright colors, simplified forms and an expressive, spontaneous style.
His work is often humorous and provocative, reflecting an aesthetic inspired by popular culture, comics and urban art. His legacy as a Figuration Libre artist remains significant in the history of French contemporary art, and his works continue to be appreciated for their vitality and visual impact.
