NOTICE Rémi Blanchard, French artist and one of the founding members of the Figuration Libre movement, is known for his colorful, dreamlike works in acrylic on canvas. His paintings are characterized by a naïve, poetic universe populated by imaginary landscapes, animals and stylized characters. Blanchard draws on popular culture, fairy tales and myths to create vibrant, narrative scenes that seem to draw inspiration from a childlike world, yet reflect a unique emotional depth and sensibility. Blanchard's acrylics on canvas are distinguished by vibrant colors and simple yet evocative compositions, where each element seems to float in a timeless space. Using flat tints of color, he constructs scenes in total freedom, often marked by a touch of humor and mystery. His unique style, both direct and spontaneous, echoes the aesthetics of Figuration Libre, where freedom of expression and the integration of popular culture are central to the artistic approach. Alongside artists such as Hervé Di Rosa, Robert Combas and François Boisrond, Blanchard has contributed to the renewal of French contemporary painting, breaking with academic codes to celebrate lively, accessible art. Today, his acrylics on canvas are highly prized for their ability to evoke reverie, lightness and innocence, while offering an intimate, personal vision of the world.
