LAMBERT- RUCKI - Lot 200
LAMBERT- RUCKI Male silhouettes, 1931 Mixed media on paper, signed upper left and dated 1931 25.5 x 18 cm Framed NOTICE Jean Lambert-Rucki (1888-1967) - Drawing Jean Lambert-Rucki, a naturalized French artist of Polish origin, was a sculptor, painter and draughtsman renowned for his avant-garde approach and his exploration of abstract and cubist forms. His work is marked by a constant quest for simplification and stylization, in which he manages to harmonize lines, shapes and volumes with an elegant modernity. In his drawings, Lambert-Rucki often uses clean, geometric lines to create balanced, dynamic compositions, where every stroke seems carefully thought out. This drawing, like many of Lambert-Rucki's graphic works, reveals his interest in cubism and primitive art, which he integrates into a personal vision of abstraction. Through angular forms and repetitive motifs, the artist creates human, animal or abstract figures, while retaining a sense of movement and life. Precision of line and economy of means reinforce the visual impact of the work, offering a composition that is both minimalist and charged with meaning. Close in his cubist, stylized spirit to artists such as Fernand Léger and Amedeo Modigliani, Jean Lambert-Rucki was part of the Parisian avant-garde of the early XXᵉ century. Today, his designs are prized for their modernity and ability to marry tradition and innovation, capturing the essence of form in bold, timeless compositions.
