Initially an illustrator, he turned to tapestry in 1947, co-founding the Association des Peintres Cartonniers de Tapisserie. Inspired by nature and geometric forms, he created modernist works influenced by medieval tradition, while collaborating with the Aubusson workshops. His contemporaries included artists such as Jean Lurçat, Marc Saint-Saëns and Dom Robert, also key figures in this renaissance. Picart Le Doux left a lasting imprint on textile art in France.
