Born in Paris, Stora was part of the contemporary art movement of the 20th century, where his style was both expressive and abstract, often blending influences from nature and architecture. Trained in the post-war atmosphere, Stora developed a singular pictorial language, marking a subtle dialogue between the figurative and the abstract. His compositions are distinguished by their chromatic richness, with particular attention paid to nuances and tonal variations, and a constant search for new ways of structuring space. Stora uses the interplay of light and matter to create atmospheres where the energy of color seems to flow freely, giving life to works that are both dynamic and meditative. As a lithographer, Jean-Pierre Stora explores the printmaking technique with the same creative freedom, creating works that reflect his interest in the repetition of motifs, visual rhythms and fluidity of form. He has worked with several art studios and publishers to produce series of prints that have left their mark on the art world of his time. Although his work is less well known to the general public than that of some of his contemporaries, Jean-Pierre Stora contributed to the enrichment of the French art scene from the 1960s to the 1980s. His work has been exhibited in various galleries in France and abroad, and his unique approach continues to appeal to contemporary art enthusiasts. Today, his works continue to be appreciated for their visual intensity and their ability to capture the essence of form and color, while being imbued with a profound artistic sensibility.
