He obtained his master's degree in cabinetmaking in 1779 and moved to rue de Bourbon-Villeneuve. In 1799, he moved to rue de l'Echiquier, before ceasing his activity in 1806. Other cabinetmakers active during the reign of Louis XVI were Joseph Baumhauer, Antoine-Robert Gaudreaux, Jean-Baptiste Sené, Jean-Henri Riesener and Adam Weisweiler.
