But his colors blended, shapes blurred and motifs intermingled, conveying the bustling life of Paris in a very recognizable touch, as in our work. The buildings in the background mingle with the trees, while passers-by and stores are barely sketched in. The work becomes more complex to read, as the viewer's eye is drawn to the play of light. BIOGRAPHY Konstantin Korovine, a famous Russian painter of the early 20th century, had a passionate artistic relationship with the city of Paris. Born in Russia in 1861, Korovine was steeped in European culture and attracted by the charm and vitality of Paris. On his first trip to the City of Light in 1885, he was amazed by its bustling streets, elegant boulevards and lively cafés. Inspired by the changing light and vibrant atmosphere of the French capital, Korovine captures the essence of Paris in his work.
