A certificate of authenticity from The Raza Foundation - Gorbio dated April 27, 2023 will be given to the buyer. Madame Vaillant is the daughter of Monsieur Boudet, a shipowner by profession. Born on May 8, 1915 in Beaussault (Seine-Inférieure), Monsieur Boudet enjoyed a remarkable career in the maritime field. After studying at the Lycée Corneille in Rouen, he entered the École navale and rose through the ranks of the French navy, attaining the rank of Capitaine de corvette. However, in 1946, he left the navy to pursue other professional opportunities. From 1946 to 1956, Mr. Boudet was Managing Director of Gérance Immobilière and Société de Crédit Alexandrin in Egypt. He subsequently founded and served as Chairman and CEO of Oceangas in Italy and Gazocéan in France from 1957 to 1978. He was also founder and Chairman and CEO of Interocéangas in Chile from 1960 to 1978, and of Navigas in Spain from 1961 to 1978. Mr. Boudet co-founded Gazmarine with Gaz de France and was a director of this company from 1963 to 1971. He was also Chairman of Technigaz from 1963 to 1978, and Chairman of Geogas Entreprise in Switzerland since 1979. To sum up his career and achievements, Mr. Boudet has received several honors, including Officier de la Légion d'honneur, Commandeur de l'ordre national du Mérite, Croix de guerre 39-45 and Chevalier du Mérite. Madame and Monsieur Boudet were great lovers of art and Raza. Over the years, they acquired at least ten paintings by this renowned artist, two of which featured in the Raza exhibition at Pompidou in February. One of these paintings, "Terre Rouge" from 1968, 150 x 150 cm, oil on canvas, was sold in 2007 and we have the invoice. In addition, one of Raza's paintings from the family collection appears in the book "Sh Raza" published by Editions de la Différence, on page 81. Mrs. Vaillant, taking up the torch from her parents, has continued to enrich the Vaillant collection by acquiring this exceptional work by Sh Raza, entitled "Sentier". This acquisition testifies to the Vaillant family's ongoing commitment to art and their passion for the work of this renowned artist. "Sentier" is a remarkable piece that will captivate collectors and art lovers with its depth and beauty. It was acquired from the Maison de la Culture in Le Havre in 1972. This institution has decided to sell some of his works, offering art lovers the opportunity to own a unique piece.
